Silence, a not too successful group from the Welsh borders, were joined by session pianist and rock n roll hopeful Ian Hunter. Developed from Dylan obsessives to their own character over the course of four albums for Island. Very popular live (banned from the Royal Albert Hall after seat smashing incident precursor of punk rock), but no great record sales. Decided to split up, but then continued to record "All the Young Dudes", written for them by up and coming pop star, and fan - David Bowie. Three more albums and several pop hits before finally falling apart when Ian Hunter left in 1974.

Will there come a time when sorrows hard to find
And all those nursery rhymes will find a meaning
Theres got to be a change, thoughts to rearrange
Does it seem so strange to try redeeming
Only time will show if the unrelenting blow
Thats cast from down below does strike the ceiling
Life must still go on whatevers right or wrong
Realise whats gone and was never healing
